Principal's Welcome

Principal’s Welcome Message

Dear St. Rose Families, Alumni, Friends, and Future Roses,

Welcome to St. Rose High School.

As both an alumnus and Principal of St. Rose, I have the privilege of seeing our school from a unique perspective. I know what St. Rose meant to me as a student, but more importantly, I see every day what it continues to mean to the young people and families we serve.

St. Rose is a school built on relationships. We believe students thrive when they are known personally, valued for who they are, challenged to grow, and encouraged to make the most of the opportunities around them. That belief is at the heart of the experience we work to provide every student.

Our students are challenged academically while having opportunities to discover interests and talents that may shape their future. Whether through our Institute of Financial Leadership, engineering and robotics, aviation, 63 college credit opportunities, the arts, athletics, service, or the many other experiences available to them, we want our students to explore, take appropriate risks, try something new, and find the areas where they can truly excel and grow as an individual.

At the same time, a St. Rose education is about much more than a transcript.

As a Catholic school, we are called to help form young people of faith, character, compassion, and purpose. We want our graduates prepared for college and career, but we also want them prepared to lead, serve others, make good decisions, and understand the responsibility they have to use their gifts for something greater than themselves.

There is something special about being part of St. Rose. We are a community where students can find their place while still being challenged to step outside of their comfort zone. They can be an athlete and an artist, an engineer and a musician, a leader and a person of service. They can build meaningful relationships with their teachers and classmates while discovering who they are becoming.

Four years of high school pass incredibly quickly. Our responsibility is to make those years matter.

For our current families, thank you for trusting us with that responsibility and for being such an important part of our community.

For those who are just beginning to learn about St. Rose, I encourage you to come visit us. Walk our halls, meet our students and teachers, and experience our community for yourself. The best way to understand St. Rose is to experience St. Rose.

We are proud of our history, excited about where our school is headed, and committed to continuing to become the very best version of St. Rose for the students and families we serve.

Be Known. Be Valued. Be Challenged. Be More.

Yours in faith and education,

Robert J. Dougherty ’05
