Learning Support
At St. Rose High School, you have more choices! With our rotating drop schedule, students can take 4 more electives during their time here. That means more course offerings.
The course selection process for the 2025-2026 school year is underway. Please take a moment to review the Program of Study below as the Guidance team outlines the steps for choosing courses and reviews expectations and timelines. T
Remember, not all courses offered are available to all students. Many have prerequisites that must be met. If you have any questions, please stop by and see your guidance counselor.
The Program of Study will be available to all students on January 12. Review it with your parents to make informed course selections. The course selection process has evolved for the 2026-2027 school year, transitioning to Genesis. Counselors will meet with students individually to select classes and input them into Genesis.
Important Dates:
- Program of Study Release: January 12
- Student should review the Program of Study prior to meeting with their Guidance Counselor
- Guidance Appointments Scheduling Starts: January 20, 2026
Before your guidance appointment, complete the course request worksheet available on your counselor's Google Classroom page. Failure to do so may result in rescheduling your appointment. Pay close attention to prerequisites and challenge yourself by opting for the most rigorous class you're eligible for.
Now, let's explore some exciting curriculum updates:
- Institute of Financial Leadership (IFL): The Business Department introduces IFL, offering courses leading to a certificate. The finance and investment club, along with an internship, are integral parts.
- Integrated Wellness Department: Formerly the Physical Education Department, it now includes freshman and course in health, Driver's Education, and CPR
- Course Changes: Some courses have new names, descriptions, and levels, especially in upper-level sequential courses. Refer to the Program of Study for details.
Remember, courses for the next year depend on student requests. If a course lacks requests, your counselor will assist you in making a new one.
If a course faces insufficient requests, your counselor will guide you in making a new request. Thank you, and best of luck with your scheduling! We look forward to seeing you all soon.
