As Light As A Thimble

A thimble,
So small, so light,
So perfectly carved,
For the shape of a fingertip.
Such as the moments of life,
Like the simple shine of its silver tint,
So fleeting and yet so beautiful,
To the beating of the human heart.
The needle of a painful memory,
Protected by an outer-cover,
Of pure exuberance,
Of love.
The guilt,
And sensation vulnerability,
Never to be touched,
With the vivacity,
As light as a thimble.
