Thank you Sister Kathy Nace, SSJ

For the past 12 years, Sister Kathy Nace, a Sister of St. Joseph (SSJ), played an integral role at St. Rose High School.

She started as a math teacher, Assistant Principal and also led the stage crew for all of the high school musicals.

In 2009, she began as the Principal and St. Rose High School has grown tremendously under her leadership.

She led the school into the 21st century, making investments in the technological infrastructure of the building including, wireless internet, 1-to-1 iPads for all students, digital labs, 3D printers and so much more, helping students become ready for the digital workforce.

She facilitated strong relationships with Alumni and helped to bring in donations to further advance St. Rose High School.  She led the remodel of the library, Innovation Lab, Science Labs, Engineering and so much more.

Sister Kathy worked tirelessly expanding the programs and offerings at St. Rose,  building the annual fund and increasing alumni involvement while weathering the challenges that have arisen.  Challenges like Superstorm Sandy and the devastating impact it had on the building but not the spirit.   Under her leadership, the spirit of St Rose was strengthened.  Teaching and learning continued while repairs and renovations were completed.

As Sister Kathy’s time at St. Rose High School comes to an end, we want to take this time to thank her for her many gifts, hard work and dedication to the students, faculty, alumni, and community of St. Rose High School.  She remains in our prayers as she continues to a new vocation and will be remembered for her smile and commitment to Catholic education and the strong foundation she built for the future generations of students on their Journey to Greatness.
