St. Joseph Pastries - Two-Bite Reviews - Episode 1/2

Where do you get your St. Joseph pastry from? Move over Dave Portnoy because Sister Janette, Alyssa and Avery are sharing their two-bite reviews of the St. Joseph pastry from three local bakeries. We conducted a blind taste test (it was very scientific) of Caputo's Pastry Shoppe in Long Branch, Del Ponte's Bakery in Bradley Beach, and Elisa's Pastry Shop in Lakewood's version of their St. Joseph pastry.

See which one these three ladies enjoy the most! And stay tuned for tomorrow when the second episode will drop featuring two players from the St. Rose Boys Basketball team.

The pastry originated in Italy and is made with a choux pastry dough that is piped into a circular shape and fried until golden brown. The center of the pastry is then hollowed out and filled with a creamy custard, cannoli cream, or ricotta filling. We went the cannoli route!

Thank you to the Sisters of St. Joseph for starting St. Rose High School 100 years ago!
