Fall Athletics

Dear St. Rose Athletes and Families,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter in anticipation of the official start of our fall athletics season. Preseason practices will officially resume on Monday, September 14th for all fall sports teams, and competitions will resume on September 28th for Girls Tennis and October 1st for all other sports.

In preparation for the upcoming season, please review the contents of this letter and share them with your child. Below you will find a summary of the Covid-19 protocols in place, new start dates for each athletic season, information on how you can stay aware of current athletics announcements, and information on our new athletics website and online school store.

Please be aware of the following Covid-19 protocols mandated by the NJSIAA as a part of their “Return to Play Plan” that are in place at St. Rose in order to protect our student-athletes, coaches, and spectators during the fall season:

  • Temperature Screenings:

    • All students will be temperature screened prior to being allowed to participate in practices/competitions. Opposing teams will be screened prior to their arrival.

    • Student-athletes who are virtually learning must report to the athletic trainer in order to have their temperature screened prior to participating.

  • Locker Rooms:

    • Locker rooms will be available for student-athletes only, they will be open from 2:30pm until all athletes are changed.

    • Locker rooms will be disinfected daily by our maintenance team.

  • Transportation:

    • One-way shuttles to our Athletic Complex will be provided for student-athletes on game/practice dates. Parents must pick up their children at the complex.

    • Face coverings are required while on the bus and windows will be ajar.

    • Buses will be disinfected daily by our maintenance team.

  • Face Coverings & Social Distancing:

    • Face coverings are required at all times except for when actively participating in practice or playing in a game/match.

    • Student-athletes and coaches must wear face coverings on the sidelines during games/matches.

    • Student-athletes and coaches must maintain social distancing of 6 feet or greater on the sidelines.

  • Spectators:

    • Spectators are welcome at the Athletic Complex. The complex’s capacity is 500.

    • All spectators must wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
