Re-Opening Plan

Re-Opening Plan

Dear Students and Parents,

I trust and pray that you are all well and are able to relax and enjoy these warm days of summer.  It’s hard to believe that August is almost here and we are about a month away from the upcoming school year.  We are so excited about our students returning to our school building and welcoming the Class of 2024.

RE-OPENING PLANThe road to re-opening

Our plan was developed using a framework that was sent to all Catholic schools in the Diocese of Trenton. The guidelines referenced in this plan are based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and the State of New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) The Road Back.

Our plan is specific to our school building and includes everything that is needed to ensure the safety of our students and staff.  Please review the plan, and if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions feel free to contact us at St. Rose High School.

Our plan includes all students attending school on a full-time basis.  In order to accomplish this goal and provide for a safe school environment, everyone must understand and comply with the safety practices required in the plan. The plan is a living document and can be adjusted at any time to ensure the safety and well being of our students and staff.

Should it be necessary, we also have a back-up plan.  This plan is incorporated into our four-day rotating drop schedule and students would receive live classroom instruction 75% of the time.  As an example, in a given month that includes 20 school days, students would be present in the school building receiving live instruction 15 of those 20 days. On the remaining five days, students would receive instruction via live streaming of classes.  Attendance in all classes is mandatory.

Virtual instruction will be provided for students who cannot attend school for medical or other reasons.  Cameras are being installed in all classrooms for the purpose of live-streaming classroom instruction.

Besides ensuring a safe environment for our students and staff while providing quality instruction, we are also committed to creating an environment that would nurture the spiritual, social, and emotional needs of our students.  We are looking forward to working with our students and their families and ask for God’s blessings as we embark upon the 2020-2021 school year.

God Bless,

John F. Tonero, Principal
