2024-25 SPRING Athletics Registration

REGISTER ON THE PARENT PORTAL BEFORE MARCH. 15TH

Student-athletes must be registered and cleared for participation in tryouts and practices via the Genesis Parent Portal.

All student-athletes must submit a Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Form completed by a physician to the Genesis Parent Portal prior to participation.

As we prepare for another exciting year for the Purple Roses, our Athletic Department has experienced a transition in leadership over the summer months.

Kristin Harmon, a long-time member of our Athletic Department, has transitioned from her roles as Athletic Trainer and Assistant Athletic Director. Kristin has been an essential part of the St. Rose Athletic community and has left an indelible mark on our school. She is moving on to a new professional venture but remains a valued resource and supporter of our Athletic programs. We hope to continue involving Ms. Harmon in St. Rose High School Athletics in some capacity as we move into the upcoming seasons.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bruce Peragallo for his service as Athletic Director over the past school year. Bruce’s guidance and support helped several of our programs achieve historic milestones and set new records. Although Mr. Peragallo will be moving on from St. Rose High School, he has been an integral source of support during this transition to a new leadership model combining the roles of Athletic Director and Athletic Trainer for the upcoming school year.

We are excited to announce that Julia Barnes will be joining us as the new Athletic Director/Athletic Trainer, effective August 1st. Please review our press release to read further about Mrs. Barnes' experience and credentials here.

FAQs

What sports do you offer?

We offer a variety of male and female sports for all three seasons. Many of our teams have at least a Varsity and JV level and some have a freshmen level.

Can I play multiple sports?

In one season, you are limited to one strenuous sport. According to the NJSIAA Section 2 Strenuous Sports

A player on an interscholastic athletic team shall participate in only one strenuous high school sport at a time during the regular high school sports season. A player may drop one high school sport to participate in another, but he/she may not return to a sport from which he/she withdrew. The strenuous sports are: Baseball, Basketball, Cross-Country, Diving, Fencing, Field Hockey, Football, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Skiing, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Spring Track, Winter Track, Volleyball, and Wrestling.

CL 1 Bowling and Golf are not considered strenuous sports.
CL 2 Rule 2, Section 2, Strenuous Sports, will mean a student concluding a season in one sport will not be able to participate in another sport regardless of the fact that the athlete would be able to meet the six (6) day practice rule.

Do all sports teams have cuts?

No, most teams do not make cuts from the program as a whole. Teams will be decided and players will be placed on either Varsity, JV or Freshmen based on ability. In some cases teams may need to make cuts from the program if there are an abundance of athletes trying out for one sport, but that is usually rare. However, it can happen from time to time and from team to team.
