2024-2025 Course Offerings
At St. Rose High School, you have more choices! With our rotating drop schedule, students can take 4 more electives during their time here. That means more course offerings.
The course selection process for the 2024-2025 school year is underway. Please take a moment to watch the video below as the Guidance team outlines the steps for choosing courses and reviews expectations and timelines. Then complete the course selection process when the portal is opened for your class. (see timeline below)
Remember, not all courses offered are available to all students. Many have prerequisites that must be met. If you have any questions, please stop by and see your guidance counselor.
It's that time of year when we kick off the process of selecting courses for the upcoming school year. Today, we'll guide you through the changes and updates for the 2024-2025 curriculum.
The Program of Study will be available to all students on January 22. Review it with your parents to make informed course selections. The course selection process has evolved for the 2024-2025 school year, transitioning to Genesis. Counselors will meet with students individually to select classes and input them into Genesis.
- Program of Study Release: January 22
- Course Request Worksheet Completion Deadline: Prior to your guidance appointment
- Guidance Appointments Scheduling Starts: January 26
Before your guidance appointment, complete the course request worksheet available on your counselor's Google Classroom page. Failure to do so may result in rescheduling your appointment. Pay close attention to prerequisites and challenge yourself by opting for the most rigorous class you're eligible for.
Now, let's explore some exciting curriculum updates:
Institute of Financial Leadership (IFL): The Business Department introduces IFL, offering courses leading to a certificate. The finance and investment club, along with an internship, are integral parts.
Integrated Wellness Department: Formerly the Physical Education Department, it now includes freshman and sophomore courses in health, driver's Ed, CPR, and physical fitness, supporting holistic well-being.
Course Changes: Some courses have new names, descriptions, and levels, especially in upper-level sequential courses. Refer to the Program of Study for details.
Remember, courses for the next year depend on student requests. If a course lacks requests, your counselor will assist you in making a new one.
If a course faces insufficient requests, your counselor will guide you in making a new request. Thank you, and best of luck with your scheduling! We look forward to seeing you all soon.

Course Selection Worksheet
Course selection for current students begins on the date indicated for each grade level:
Class of 2025, Juniors January 26, 2024 - February 8, 2024
Class of 2026, Sophomores February 9, 2024 - February 22, 2024
Class of 2027, Freshmen February 23, 2024 - March 8, 2024
An email reminder will be sent on the date that the portal opens for each class. Course selections must be completed within a week’s time. Students in need of assistance from guidance counselors and/or teachers should take this week to make decisions on courses and placement. The online module will automatically close at the conclusion of the week. Once the time frame is over, guidance will make appointments for each student to review his or her selections and print a confirmation sheet. These confirmation sheets need to be signed by parents and students and returned immediately.
It's also important to note that some courses may not run if enrollment requests are insufficient. This is why we ask that you carefully select your alternate courses. Please make sure that you read and follow these directions and adhere to the deadlines established. Selecting your course in a timely manner will help ensure that we can complete all necessary tasks related to the development of the 2024-2025 Master schedule. Finally, if you have any questions, at anytime, regarding this process, please reach out to your Guidance Counselor for help.
We are excited for the course offerings for the 2024-2025 school year. I wish you good luck with selecting your courses.
