Dear Parents & Students:
In the beginning of July, Mr. Tonero shared that we are migrating from Schoology to Google Classroom. In the video below, I will explain why we decided to fully embrace Google and briefly show you Google Classroom.
Then, starting in September, we will officially be leveraging Google Classroom to share assignments and course announcements with students/parents for both homework and classwork. It is a blended learning platform that integrates G Suite for Education apps to allow teachers to assign and collect work from students. Classroom creates a paperless environment and saves time, providing a way for teachers and students to easily communicate and stay organized.
All the tools are free, ad-free, reliable and secure. After the first few weeks of school, and occasionally throughout the year, we encourage parents to sit down with their children to look at the school work stored within their Google Classroom.
Parent email summaries include:
Their courses will not appear until after the first day of school.
It is your child's responsibility to 'turn in' their work to the teacher, or mark it as 'submitted'. At the top left of Classroom, the three lines bring up a menu, including a 'To Do' list of assignments. This makes it very easy to see what needs to be completed.

Thank you for staying connected to your child's education and we appreciate your support of our efforts to streamline the integration of technology into the learning at St. Rose High School.
Very truly yours,
